All martial arts are a great way to improve your stamina, fitness, flexibility, strength and co-ordination, whilst stimulating your mind by learning techniques and patterns.
At our club the emphasis is on getting fit whilst having fun. You will be taught :
Punching techniques from: -
Kicks - a variety of kicks from: -
each designed for a different target
Mok-Gar Patterns - series of movements to demonstrate the art of Kung Fu
Stances - traditional stances:-
- all taught to improve strength and balance.
Weaponry - use of traditional weapons including: -
Sparring/pad work - working with another student to practice/perfect movements
Self-defence techniques - from simple blocks to grabs and locks
Stretching - flexibility is key to improving your techniques and avoiding injury General fitness - press-ups, sit-ups, games - all to improve stamina and encourage team work.
Each week we will cover techniques for all levels of ability and skill. So you can come along at any time and join in.
Our style of Kung Fu has a set syllabus and you will be encouraged to take grades to show the improvement you have made in your fitness and learning. However, if you just want to come along to get fit that’s OK too. Grades are not compulsory - having fun is !
